Atlantic puffins nest on several Maine islands, including Eastern Egg Rock, Seal Island, and Machias Seal Island, from May through August, with peak viewing in June and July. These "clowns of the sea" are best seen via boat tours departing from Boothbay Harbor, Rockland, or Cutler to witness the only US.
